x264 PRO, x264 PROBD & x264 PROVR
You know that the bundled H.264 encoder for Adobe Premiere Pro is not the best, so why do you use it on your masterpiece?
x264 PRO, x264 PROBD and x264 PROVR integrates the best H.264 encoder in the world with Adobe Creative Suites CS5.5, CS6, CC, CC 2104, CC 2015 & CC 2017 (Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder).
x264 PRO renders video according to the H.264 specifications. With support for MPEG4 (MP4) and QuickTime (MOV) output containering as well as raw (.264) all common delivery mechanisms are catered for.
x264 PRO also ships with an Audio Encoder (Uncompressed PCM (WAV) and AAC are supported).
x264 PROBD is the same encoder with added option constraints to make the configuration Blu-ray legal. This makes it impossible to create a video encode that doesn’t conform to the Blu-ray specifications.
x264 PROVR is the same encoder with added support for non-compliant greater than 4K for Virtual Reality sizes up to 8k x 8k. It also supports the necessary changes so that YouTube and other streaming services automatically recognize it as VR. There is support for both mono and stereo as well as 1st order Ambisonic spatial audio.
It takes a lot of pixels to display in a HD headset. Typical Field of View (FOV) is around 120degrees. On mobile devices it is much less – 60-90 degrees. This means you need multiple HD videos side by side to make up the image. If you have stereo it’s then also twice as high as you have to stack the left eye image on the top and the right eye on the bottom.
Here is a full 360o image.
